Who we are
787 Fishing runs private fishing charters with Captain Marcos Hanke from Marina Puerto Chico in Fajardo, Puerto Rico. When this page says “we”, it means 787 Fishing. Wepa Web Works, which built this website, runs the service that receives booking requests for us.
What we collect
Only what you choose to send. The booking form asks for your name, email, phone number, preferred and alternate dates, trip, party size, experience level and a message. Name, email, phone, preferred date, trip and party size are required; the rest is optional. If you call, text or email us, we receive your number or address and whatever you write.
How we use it
To check the boat’s and the Captain’s availability for your dates, to call or text you to confirm your charter, and to answer your questions. We don’t sell your information, share it for advertising, or add you to a mailing list.
Emails about your request
When your request passes our spam checks, we email you a short note from 787fishing.com to say we received it. The note repeats only your trip, your date and a reference number, never your message. Your request reaches our inbox with your email address as the reply address, so our answer comes straight to you.
Spam protection
A spam-protection service checks that the booking form is being used by a person and not a bot. It works in the background and asks you to click a checkbox only when it needs to. To do this, it processes technical information about your browser and device.
We keep every request, including the ones our checks flag as spam, with that verdict beside it, so that a real request flagged by mistake can still be found.
What we don’t keep
The service that receives your request doesn’t record your IP address, your browser’s details or anything else your browser sends with it, and its logs hold no personal data. Your request is stored in one place only, and that’s where it’s deleted if you ask.
Like any website, our web host keeps standard technical logs, such as IP addresses, to keep the site secure and working.
Who handles it
A few companies help us, and they handle your information only to provide their service: a cloud provider stores requests and sends the emails about them, a spam-protection service checks the booking form, our web host serves this website, and our email provider hosts our inbox. Wepa Web Works sees requests only to keep the booking service working and to show them to us. If this list changes, we’ll update this page.
Other services on this site
The home page shows live weather and tides from public weather and ocean data services, and the maps on our contact and driving directions pages come from an open map service. Your browser loads these directly, so those services see your IP address, as any website you visit does; we send them nothing about you. The home page keeps the latest weather in your browser for 30 minutes so it loads faster, and it stays on your device. We also count visits with an analytics service that doesn’t identify you. This site sets no cookies.
How long we keep it
Booking requests are stored for 12 months and then deleted automatically. The copy in our email inbox is kept as ordinary business correspondence, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we have about you. Call or text 1-787-646-2585, or contact us, and we’ll reply within 30 days.
Children
This site isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. Parents may tell us about children in their party; we use that only to plan the trip.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update it here and change the date at the top.
